Current Projects

Global fund grant (2023)

As an implementing partner of the Global Fund-supported project, NNTP is currently playing a crucial role in strengthening the capacity of 20 transgender-led organizations across India, part of our network.

Our focus is on empowering transgender communities, enhancing their access to social protection, addressing human rights barriers, and implementing an effective HIV-SRHR services delivery model.

Additionally, we recognized the importance of mental health awarenss and resources among our community members, and integrated appropriate services into our approach.

Technical assistance from UNDP

The core objectives of this project include strengthening the evidence base for transgender rights advocacy, building alliances with key stakeholders, and enhancing organizational capacity.

To address the fear of reporting hate crimes among transgender individuals, NNTP organized sessions with law enforcement centers. These sessions aimed to educate law enforcement officials, foster positive relationships, and advocate for specialized training programs.

Through this, NNTP is contributing to creating a more inclusive and supportive environment for transgender individuals in India.

Technical assistance from FHI360

NNTP has successfully partnered with FHI360 to empower transgender community-based organizations (CBOs) across India.

Through our comprehensive capacity-building initiative, we focused on strengthening CBOs in areas such as organizational strategy, program management, financial management, human resources, and client engagement.

As a result of our efforts with eight regional CBOs have successfully implemented their first-ever projects. Notably, three of these CBOs have developed sustainable funding models and are now implementing projects supported by Azim Premiji and Omega.
